Sailing Races
• Due to the coronavirus, the Spring Series races will start at Johnson Point just like the Commodore’s cup to avoid operating a Committee Boat. AI: Bert to update Website
• Starting times for all races this season will be 1:00 PM. We floated 10:00 or 11:00 but the response was not favorable, and it didn’t allow for getting the marks out in time for the race. AI: Bert van Domselaar to update website
• May 16th is the first scheduled race.

SRO Options
• Bill M. can help and teach but will not be SRO.
• Ray will not available this year
• Stan Makson and Elly van Domselaar are interested
• We plan to set up some training sessions.

Safety Boat and Committee boat options
• Committee boat not needed for Spring races since starting at Johnson Point.
• We will put out a calendar for the people who sign up for Committee Boat and Safety boat on the website. Confirm a day or 2 earlier as well.
• Safety boat would need a minimum of 2 participants; one to drive and the other to help out when needed. AI: Bob Fewkes to coordinate Safety Boat volunteers
• The SLWLA Lake Patrol was brought up. They are currently patrolling. We should notify them of our races, send them our Safety Boat instructions and maybe see if we can make use of the Lake Patrol somehow.

Race equipment
• Bert is looking for help to set the marks. Yvonne said Steve can help if they are around. David and Greg can help as well.
• As far as we know the marks are at Keenan’s and we will still make use of that location. AI: Bert and Bruce to see what shape they are in.
• Bert has both a hand pump and an electric pump for the marks.
• Flags, horn, race day equipment … are thought to be with Ray Taylor since he was the last SRO.

Social Committee

• Gail Deal and Mary Anne Fewkes have nothing real to report until we can get together.

Schedule Items

• Saturday May 9 – Group Sail-about at 10:00 AM. Bob Fewkes to lead from west end of Pine island, but you can join and leave as you see fit.
• Sunday May 3 – Boat get together, power and sail. High winds probable. West End of Pine Island at 2 PM

Sailing School
• Mary Anne Fewkes is thinking about an online school, say 6 classes before they will instruct you in the water. AI. See if enough Interest.
• Mary Anne has time to create a syllabus for this. Yvonne Short may help when available
