Announcements are articles posted by members of the Seven Lakes Sailing Club. They are general informaion about upcoming events, event changes, and any other information of general interest to the membership.
Announcements is open to all Club members to post notices, announcements, news, boat or related items for sale or other items of interest to the Club. To do so, you must be registered on the site and request "site permissions" to be an Author on the site. Details on how to post a item are outlined on the FAQ page. New photos have been added to the site thanks to Jane Sessler, Bob Esplin and Frank Krohn. Jane's photos are from the June Sailing School , Bob Esplin's photos are from the 2009 Fall Series Race 2, and Frank's are from a Lake Sequoia race in October.
Keep checking back for the "Kid's Sailing School". They should be posted soon.

I have added code to speed up SLSC's website. I think you will find that it loads much quicker now.
However, because of it's complexity, it can cause some functions to not work properly. I have looked through the site and fixed any that I could find. It's possible that I missed some. If you find any that don't work, please send me an email at

The annual awards banquet is Saturday Nov. 13. The payment deadline is November 5th.

Please note, for safety reasons, this information is viewable only by registered Sailing Club Members who have created an account to login into the Members Only section of this site. The link will take you to the article, but if you are not currently "signed in" you will see the "skull and cross bones get out of here" warning. All you have to do, at this point, is enter your username and password and click the "Login" button.
If you have not created an account on the website, use the Member Login block on the right. Click the "Create an Account" link and follow the instructions.
If you have any questions, there is a tutorial on the site that will guide you through the site login process. Click on the FAQ link in the top menu. Then click on "Member Login". It is a video tutorial.

As an addition to the regular racing schedule, the Club has scheduled a two-race Sunfish Open series on Lake Auman. The dates for the races are Saturdays, August 14 and September 11, with the races starting at 1:00.
All members of the Club, and other owners of Sunfish, are invited to participate. Current non-members are invited to join the Club and may also race upon becoming members. Membership information is available on the Club’s website, sail7lakes.com, or by contacting Bill Mamel, 673-8970 or email

An "anti-spam" function has been added to the Member Login "Create an Account" page. We have been getting a number of spam registrations. This should help eliminate those "member login" registrations.
The additional field requires simple addition or subtraction of two numbers with the result being entered as a number. Hopefully, this will not create an inconvenience. However, should you run into any problems creating a new login account, don't hesitate to let the Dan Blue know of your problem.

There is also a link to the ISAF's home page because the site is a great resource for other information, as well. Both have been added to the Links page, under Racing Resources. |

Sailors, please check your 2010 Schedule of Events for the new month for our Annual Picnic. The new month is May and the date is the 8th. The Picnic will be at Johnson Point at 5PM. If there is bad weather, another location will be announced by email and phone calls a few days before the event. Our own Chuck Ridenour and his crew will be cooking the pig for most of the day at Johnson Point. And, of course, Alice Ridenour's special sauce will be used for basting the pork. Yum!! Reservations will be accepted April 19th through April 30th.

You may have noticed that the mainSheet link in the Navigation column on the left has been removed and an "Announcements" link put in its place.
The Club's leadership decided that the mainSheet should be reserved as the voice of the leadership. It will be e-mailed and/or mailed to the membership as published.
The Announcements section of the site is to be used keep the membership updated on current activities or other information related to the membership's interests. The Announcements section is open to all of the membership to post articles. As a member, your priviledges include the ability to publish articles to the Club's website.
