Welcome Aboard!
The Seven Lakes Sailing Club is a group of Seven Lakes residents who have an interest in sailing. We organize a program of events that includes, learn-to-sail courses, informal sailing events for non-sailors, social activities, and sailboat races around defined courses on beautiful Lake Auman. The racing events are run with all sizes of sailing boats using the Portsmouth handicap system. Our social events include a variety of on-the-water and shoreside activities. The club also includes many pontoon boat and powerboat members who have interests in sailing and in our social activities. You don’t need to have a boat to join and enjoy the sailing and social events of the club. Membership fee for a family is $25 per year. What's the benefit of registering on the site?
The biggest benefit is that it concurrently signs you up for membership in the Club, a requirement for participation in any of the Club's events. It subscribes you to the Club's newsletter and you have the option of signing up for newsletters directed to specific Club groups like "Power Boat Skippers". And, last but not least, it gives you access to the "Membership' area which is limited to members only.
The Membership area includes the list of the Members with their contact information and a direct means to email them through the site. Being a member means you'll receive messages or newsletters about upcoming events and last minute changes due to unforeseen circumstances. Further, you have access to your personal profile and can change or edit it at will without having to go through one of the Club's Officers. And likewise, you can add "For Sale" items directly.
There have been discussions about adding other functions and content for the Membership, like a Member's Blog or Skipper's Blog or something similar. As the site matures and the wishes of the Members become know, we will try to expand what the site can do for you. Consequently, let us know what things you would like to see on the site or that the site can do.
