LS Fall Series Race 3 Results Posted
Saturday, 03 October 2009 20:54
Another beautiful day in paradise - particularly for Paul Kirst. Congrats on his win on Lake Sequoia.

It must have been a good time from the notes sent by the Committee Boat Captain: "As many as four fouls are thought to have occured during the race without any penalties being assessed. All were resolved amicably, and none of them had any bearing on the outcome of the race except for the recorded times."

Summer Series Race Results Posted
Sunday, 12 July 2009 23:22

On the rail with RonAmazing would be an apt description of the race on Saturday. Fun would be good, too. The most boats I can remember and possibly the best wind we've ever had in July. Crowded at the start, crowded at the marks, lots of back and forth on the course, and a "surprising" win.

John Wynton sent me this photo which typifies the day. If there are more photos I will post them as quickly as possible.

Congrats to Ron Shepard for his first over - and his win on corrected time!

The wind was so good that a second race was run after "technical difficulties" were corrected on the Committee Boat. Not quite as "crowded" as the first race, but exciting, nonetheless. Congrats to Ray Taylor for his first over and to Bruce Keyser for his win.

I would like to add that while it's good to see Ted Atwood back on the water, if he continues to do as well as he's done lately we might want to encourage him to stay home until his health improves - some more.

Le Mans Start for the Single Handed Race
Monday, 01 June 2009 19:50

Hi Racers

Here is the info on next Saturdays LeMans start race.

Time: 1:00 PM

Place: Pine Island

There are supposed to be cleats on the bulkhead. The idea is to dock your boat at the bulkhead and come ashore. Once everyone is ashore at a designated place, a signal will be given and everyone will go to their boats, cast off and sail the course

There has been talk about a picnic on the island but there are a couple of drawbacks to this. One is the question of fire ants, another is the lack of facilities. So there will be no picnic.

THE RACE IS ON AND THE PICNIC IS CANCELLED. The race is single-handed.

Don’t forget the Club’s Kick Off BYOB at the Gustafason’s on Saturday, March 28 at 5:00 PM. We hope to see you there.

Other Information:

WELCOME! We want to welcome all new members!

Member Login Account:

For new members and other Club members who have not already set up a “Member Account”, please take a minute to do so. Under the “Member Login” header in the left column, simply click on the “Create an Account” and follow the instructions.

The biggest reason to do so is because we’ve set up a “broadcast email” function for the site to provide better and more frequent communciation with the membership. It uses the Member Login email addresses. As a Club Member, you can add information directly to the site. Additionally, we will be moving some of the site’s pages to the “Members Only” side of the site and having an account will allow you to see them. For example, any member can send a "broadcast email" via the "Member Email" button in the top menu on the member side of the site.

Hope to see you on the water!

Events Schedule
Monday, 16 February 2009 21:04

I have had to "unpublish" the Events Schedule for an upgrade. It should be active again shortly. I apologize for any inconvenience.

Need Your Opinion
Thursday, 12 February 2009 09:31

We would like your opinion. A survey has been activated to get your opinion on whether you think setting up a designated "sailing area" at Johnson Point. At this stage, this is just an idea that has discussed as a way to encourage more people to have access to the water and sailboats.

The idea is that a rack for boats that could be "checked out". Additionally, a "beach area" would be established to facilitate launch and retrieval of those boats. The original idea was to make availble Sunfish, but has been expanded to include Kayaks and Canoes. Please understand that this is a "work in progress" and that your opinion is important.

2009 Event Schedule Added
Tuesday, 10 February 2009 23:27

The 2009 calendar of events (Events Schedule) has been added.

The Commodore has added a number of informative and, sometimes, entertaining comments/descriptions to some of the events. click on the event in the calendar will open the event for you to read those descriptions.

Note:

You can "re-arrange" information by clicking on a column header. For example, if you want to organize the table by "Activity", simply click on it at the top of the column. The information will be reorderd, alphabetically. Clicking on the  little pyramid symbol will reverse the order.

Additionally, each event is now highlighted on the small calender in the right column on the Home page. Hold your pointer over the highlighted date and a pop up will tell you what it is. Click it and it will open those items.

Site Updating...
Monday, 09 February 2009 16:54

The website is currently being updated with the Club's 2009 information - the new leadership, the 2009 Event Schedule, the Membership Registration form, etc. Keep checking back for the most current updates.

Also, the 2008 Membership Registration database on the site will be purged in about 30 days. While your membership runs until April 1, 2009, you should register and pay your dues for 2009. Please not that if you signed up for a Member Account through the Member Login section on, you do not need to do so again. However, if your email address has changed be sure to update that record with your new address. To do so, simply login. The menu for the Member Login will change. Click on the "Your Details" link and change the email address to your new one. (Note: the password information is for your Member Login account, not for you email account.)

If you have questions, many, if not most, are answered in the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) section of our site. Also, two new video tutorials have been added there to further answer any questions on how to Create a Member Login account and how to fill out the Membership Registration form. If you still have questions, don't hesitate to call the Webmaster. I will be happy to walk you through either process.
