Welcome Aboard!
The Seven Lakes Sailing Club is a group of primarily Seven Lakes West residents who have an interest in sailing. We organize a program of events that includes sailboat races around defined courses on beautiful Lake Auman, learn-to-sail courses, informal sailing events for non-sailors and social activities. The racing events are run with all sizes of sailing boats from Sunfish to J-22 using the Portsmouth handicap system. Our social events include after-race BYOB’s, Boat Parades, Rafting Parties, Lobsterfest, Banquet, etc.
/>The club also includes many pontoon boat and powerboat members who have interests in sailing and in our social activities. You don’t need to have a boat to join and enjoy the sailing and social events of the club. For more information contact the Club Commodore, Bob Fewkes at commodore.slsc@gmail.com. Membership fee for a family is $25 per year.
The Seven Lakes Sailing Club (SLSC) has not been involved in any way with the recent restructuring of the SLWLA Lake Committee (LC). Announcements implied that the SLSC would take a permanent seat on the LC as a club function.
The SLSC focuses on promotion of sailing and paddling on Lake Auman and takes part in projects protecting its natural beauty. Individual club members have legitimate personal positions on overall lake regulation and environmental quality. However, over the past 24+ years, the SLSC has never taken official club positions on community issues, nor solicited such from its membership.
The LC chair and the SLWLA board properly designate and approve individuals who serve on the LC. The SLSC does not participate as an organization.
